Jockey Truck Driver

The Jockey Driver will be responsible for moving trailers and other equipment and ensuring that they are properly positioned for loading and unloading.

Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards and company policies are essential functions of this role.

Move trailers and other equipment around the yard and between staging locations.

Ensure that trailers are properly positioned for loading and unloading.

Assist with loading and unloading of trailers.

Conduct regular vehicle inspections to maintain its safe operation, identifying and reporting any mechanical or electrical issues that require attention.

Assist with maintaining a clean and organized yard.

Communicate with team members and management to ensure efficient operations.

Recording daily trailer locations and reporting to supervisor.

Ensure proper cargo securement procedures are followed based on company policies.

Operate trucks safely, following all traffic laws and adhering to company policies and procedures.

Adhere to safety protocols, such as wearing seat belts and personal protective equipment when required.

Communicate courteously with other drivers, pedestrians, and road users.

Drivers are required to maintain their trucks in a clean and organized condition.

Secondary responsibilities will include job tasks supporting the Receiving and Transportation departments.

Other duties as assigned.
