Controller- this is a full-time (40 hours) position, hybrid, located at our Vicente location in San Francisco.

Position Summary This position is a key role in the organization and greatly impacts Agency goals and strategies.

The Controller provides strategic and operational leadership for the Agencys accounting, reporting, internal controls, audit, tax, financial systems, and compliance functions.

The position is responsible for the integrity and accuracy of financial information, leads and develops the accounting team, strengthens financial processes and controls, and serves as a key partner to organizational leadership.

Essential Functions Provides leadership and direction to the accounting function and develops the accounting team in the following areas: o Month-end and Year-end Close o General Ledger o Accounts Payable o Revenue accounting o Accounts Receivable and Collections Owns the integrity, accuracy, and timely delivery of monthly and annual financial reporting, including: Statement of Activities, Cash Flow and Statement of Position.

Provides the underlying reports necessary for the issuance of monthly financial reporting for budget owners.

Works collaboratively across departments to resolve issues and implement improvements for proper, accurate and timely reporting.

Assist with the annual budget creation.

Ensures appropriate controls are in place to meet all funding compliance objectives including upload and reconciliation of data to partner systems.

Holds ultimate responsibility for all financial audits and cost reporting within the agency including City, County, State, and other government agencies.

Provides strategic oversight of accounting systems and leads process and system improvements (NetSuite).

Hosts regular meetings with program and fundraising colleagues to review Temporary Restricted Grants activities.

Manages the annual financial audit.

Manages the annual Federal and State tax returns.

Responsible for maintaining departmental structure in both the accounting and payroll systems.
