Monitoring & Leak Detection Engineer

Your Job

As a Monitoring & Leak Detection Engineer for Flint Hills Resources LC, (FHR) you will be able to apply troubleshooting and analytical skills in a team environment and be responsible for working closely with other technical and non-technical groups to support remote pipeline operations, projects, and business initiatives.

Our Team

At Flint Hills Resources, we are a team of Oil and Gas Pipeline professionals that are committed to safety and compliance while delivering quality products to our customers.

Our team focuses on applying anomaly detection and leak detection solutions for our Pipeline and Terminals business.

We leverage that focus to support our Pipeline Control Center operations located in Wichita, KS as well as support our field operations all around the Midwest at various stations and terminals with an anomaly detection focus first.

What You Will Do



* Troubleshoot and support pipeline hydraulic operations


* Build and manage analytical models to identify equipment failures and detect pipeline releases


* Development and support of Real-Time Leak Detection models


* Implement solutions to improve reliability and prevent false alarms in leak detection systems


* Collaborate with various teams and customers to accomplish capability advancement initiatives

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)



* Bachelor's degree in engineering OR 2+ years pipeline operations experience


* Able and willing to be on call for support on a rotating schedule


* Experience managing multifaceted projects from concept to completion

What Will Put You Ahead



* Pipeline leak detection experience


* Demonstrated experience solving complex problems


* Experience working with and communicating to all levels of an organization on key initiatives


* Experience communicating between technical and non-technical personnel


* Pipeline hydraulic modeling experience


* Experience applying data analytics to operations


* Coding experience


* Knowledge or experience withing with PI Data Historian systems


* Knowledge or experience working with SCADA systems
