Environmental Professional

The Environmental Professional is responsible for supporting and administering Superior Tire & Rubber Corp.s environmental compliance programs and environmental improvement initiatives.

This position assists in ensuring company operations comply with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations, permits, and internal requirements.

The Environmental Professional works closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Purchasing, and other departments to manage environmental requirements associated with air emissions, waste, wastewater, stormwater, chemicals, spills, and operational changes.

The position serves as a technical environmental resource while helping integrate environmental compliance into day-to-day manufacturing operations and continuous improvement activities.

Essential Job Functions: Support and administer environmental compliance programs in accordance with applicable regulatory, permit, and company requirements.

Conduct routine environmental inspections, audits, and compliance reviews; document findings and coordinate corrective actions.

Maintain environmental records, inspection documentation, manifests, analytical results, permits, plans, reports, and other required compliance documentation.Manage hazardous, residual, universal, and other regulated waste streams, including waste characterization, labeling, accumulation requirements, storage, inspections, manifests, and vendor coordination.

Support air-quality compliance activities, including emissions tracking, permit requirements, equipment inspections, material usage records, and regulatory reporting.

Support wastewater, stormwater, and other water-related compliance programs, including inspections, sampling, analytical review, documentation, and evaluation of discharge requirements.

Coordinate environmental sampling and testing activities with laboratories, consultants, waste-management vendors, and other external service providers.Review environmental analytical results and assist in determining appropriate actions based on regulatory and operational requirements.Investigate environmental incidents, spills, releases, permit deviations, and other environmental concerns.

Develop, coordinate, and track corrective and preventive actions through completion and verify effectiveness.

Assist with preparation and submission of environmental regulatory reports, permit applications, modifications, renewals, and other required documentation.

Review new chemicals and materials for environmental requirements and potential impacts prior to use.

Participate in reviews of new equipment, processes, facility modifications, and operational changes to identify environmental requirements before implementation.

Develop, maintain, and update environmental procedures, work instructions, plans, inspection forms, and other compliance tools.

Develop and provide environmental training and technical guidance to employees and supervisors.
