Housekeeping Supervisor

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT CARNIGIE TRI-COUNTY MUNICIPAL HOSPITAL POSITION SUMMARY The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for assigning staff to ensure all necessary cleaning tasks in assigned areas are properly cleaned and sanitized, may work in any area of the hospital, and may perform a variety of other tasks as directed by the Plant Operations Supervisor.

Position Summary Expanded: Under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, (The Unity Bill) this position is considered a Safety-sensitive position.

Safety-sensitive is defined to include any job that includes tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others.

Employees working in safety-sensitive roles are subject to this exception and subject to disciplinary action in the event of a positive test for marijuana or its metabolites.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED High school graduate or equivalent.

Knowledge of housekeeping regulations in a hospital setting.

One experience working in a hospital setting.

BLS Certification required within 90 days of employment and throughout employment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports and documents.

Ability to work independently, with no direction.

JOB FUNCTIONS Directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with hospital policies and applicable laws.

Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training, rewarding and disciplining employees within the department.

Address complaints and resolving problems within the department.

Performs sanitizing and disinfecting work throughout the hospital and clinics in patient care areas, exam rooms, waiting rooms, restrooms, offices, meeting rooms, etc.

Adds and performs sections of "Detail Cleaning" such as wiping ceiling vents, high/low dusting, wiping furniture, edge vacuuming and baseboard cleaning.

Performs light extraction carpet cleaning and scrubbing of safety flooring using automated equipment.

Observes and inspects assigned areas for maintenance and security needs and reports needed repairs as soon as possible.

Performs basic equipment care, checks for wear and damage on assigned equipment.Complies with department Quality Control Reports and makes corrections to work quality quickly.
