Linwood Meadows Care Center is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and creative Full-Time Activities Assistant to join our team.

This position works closely with the Activity Director to provide engaging programs that support each resident's physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


* Assist with planning and conducting individual, small-group, and large-group activities.


* Encourage residents to participate in facility programs, hobbies, crafts, games, reading, and other self-directed activities.


* Help develop and maintain the monthly activities calendar and resident attendance records.


* Provide in-room activities for residents who are bed-bound, isolated, or unable to attend group programs.


* Prepare activity materials, including accessible resources such as audiobooks or Braille materials when appropriate.


* Assist with resident outings and transportation arrangements as needed.


* Support the development and implementation of resident activity assessments and care plans.


* Complete assessment documentation and quarterly progress notes as assigned by the Activity Director.


* Participate in discharge planning and interdisciplinary resident-care discussions when requested.


* Communicate positively and professionally with residents, families, employees, visitors, and community partners.


* Assist with facility events, celebrations, and community engagement activities.


* Help identify opportunities to improve the quality and variety of resident programming.


* Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and secure Activities Department.


* Protect resident privacy and maintain the confidentiality of all resident information.


* Follow all facility policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.


* Perform additional duties as assigned by the Activity Director or facility leadership.

Qualifications


* High school diploma or equivalent required.


* One year of experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility preferred.


* Previous activities, recreation, caregiving, hospitality, or customer-service experience is helpful.


* Creative, energetic, patient, and compassionate personality.


* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


* Ability to motivate and engage residents with different interests and abilities.


* Ability to read and understand policies, procedures, and written instructions.


* Strong organization and time-management skills.


* Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
