Activities Assistant

Peninsula Post-Acute is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and creative Activity Assistant to join our team.

In this role, you will help create meaningful experiences that enhance the physical, emotional, social, and mental well-being of our residents.

Working alongside the Activity Director, you will assist in planning and leading engaging activities that promote resident participation, independence, and quality of life.

Position Details


* Position: Activity Assistant


* Schedule: Full-Time, Wednesday-Sunday


* Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour


* Location: Peninsula Post-Acute

The Activity Assistant supports the Activity Director in developing and implementing a fun, creative, and interactive activities program that meets the individual interests and needs of residents.

This position ensures activities are provided in accordance with federal, state, local, and facility guidelines while promoting resident engagement and well-being.

Essential Responsibilities


* Assist with planning, organizing, and conducting individual, small-group, and large-group activities.


* Encourage resident participation in recreational, social, educational, cultural, and wellness programs.


* Support resident outings and special events both within the facility and in the community.


* Assist with developing and maintaining the monthly activity calendar.


* Maintain accurate attendance records and activity documentation.


* Help complete resident activity assessments and quarterly progress notes as assigned.


* Participate in resident care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings as needed.


* Provide one-on-one and in-room activities for residents who are bed-bound, isolated, or unable to participate in group programs.


* Encourage self-directed activities such as hobbies, crafts, reading, games, and other leisure interests.


* Assist with arranging transportation for resident outings, appointments, and discharge-related needs when necessary.


* Foster positive communication with residents, families, staff, visitors, and community partners.


* Maintain a clean, organized, and secure Activity Department.


* Assist with quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance efforts as directed.


* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience


* High school diploma or equivalent required.


* Previous experience in a healthcare, long-term care, assisted living, or rehabilitation setting preferred.


* Experience working with seniors is highly desirable.

Skills & Abilities


* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.


* Ability to engage residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities.


* Strong organizational and time management skills.


* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


* Basic computer and documentation skills.
