What We're Looking For:

Michael Baker International is seeking an ambitious and driven Civil Associate, Highway/Roadway to join our team in either our Newark, NJ or Pennington, NJ offices for a Spring/Summer 2027 start.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside some of the industry's leading transportation professionals on transformative infrastructure projects that improve mobility, safety, connectivity, and quality of life across New Jersey and the surrounding region.

What You'll Do:

As part of our Highway/Roadway team, you will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of complex transportation projects for clients including NJDOT, New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA), NJ TRANSIT, South Jersey Transportation Authority (SJTA), Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ), county agencies, municipalities, and other public-sector clients.

You'll gain hands-on experience in roadway geometric design, roadside safety, ADA compliance, utility coordination, maintenance and protection of traffic, contract document development, stakeholder engagement, and innovative project delivery.

As a Civil Associate, you will play an active role in supporting transportation projects from concept through final design.
