What you'll achieve

As a Graduate Automation Engineer, you will work with local and global cross-functional teams to develop, support, and optimize manufacturing automation solutions within Cork Manufacturing Operations.

You will gain hands-on experience with industrial automation systems, robotics, controls, and digital manufacturing technologies while supporting both New Product Introduction (NPI) and steady-state manufacturing operations.

You will:


* Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing systems and processes.


* Assist in the programming, troubleshooting, and optimization of PLC-controlled equipment.


* Support the integration and commissioning of robotics and automated manufacturing equipment.


* Develop and maintain software tools, scripts, and applications to improve manufacturing efficiency and data visibility.


* Assist with troubleshooting automation, controls, and communication issues across manufacturing systems.


* Work with cross-functional teams to support New Product Introduction activities and manufacturing readiness.


* Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, automation, and operational excellence.

Essential Requirements


* Bachelor's Degree (Level 8) in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.


* Understanding of PLC programming, including Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley platforms.


* Familiarity with robotics and automated manufacturing equipment.


* Programming experience in Python, C#, Java, SQL, or similar programming languages.


* Understanding of industrial communication protocols, including:
+ Ethernet/IP
+ Modbus
+ Profinet
+ OPC-UA


* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


* Good troubleshooting capability and attention to detail.


* Strong written and verbal communication skills.


* Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.


* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.


* Demonstrated willingness and enthusiasm to learn new technologies and automation platforms.


* Fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
