MRI Technologist
$10,000 sign on bonus with a 2-year commitment! Job Summary: Performs computed tomography and magnetic resonance procedures, reducing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner.
Exercises professional judgement in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics.
Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
Job Responsibilities: Provides education, explains procedures, to house staff, patients, visitors and coworkers and students applying age specific skills where appropriate.
Assumes responsibility for assigned area in accordance with scope of practice and acceptable outcomes.
Follows Medical imaging policies and procedures and state and federal regulation and guidelines related to diagnostic radiography.
Performs daily maintenance tasks on crash cart, defibrillator, documents med.
Refrigerator temperatures, stocks, and inventories department.
Performs patient assessment by visually assessing patient.
Assesses by chart review and can recognize any changes and alerts nursing/physician personnel.
Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures following administrative, nursing, and medical imaging policies and procedures with emphasis on consistent delivery of care in a compassionate and respectable manner to patients and significant others during all interactions.
Directs patient to proper position for scan procedure, utilizes correct demographics and protocols, initiates scan utilizing correct parameters, reviews images of patient following department protocols and sends images to PACS.
Provides accurate documentation as needed in daily activities, logs daily patient data, and completes EDEs in timely manner.
Performs equipment quality control tests and reports deficiencies according to department procedures, performs daily Q.C.
on system, and records findings and reports deficiencies.
Meets customer service expectations.
Practices radiation protection for the benefit of self, co-workers and public.
Questions females of child bearing age as to LMP and possible pregnancy and shields patients when applicable.
Ensures that adequate screening of patients for magnetic materials is accomplished.
Works with, supervises, and educates students during procedures.
Understands the clinical competency system and performs clinical competencies as needed.
Understands requirements for student supervision, completes student evaluation, oversees repeat images, maintains current knowledge of program policies, procedures, student progress and supports the educational process.
Transfers medication and supplies in an accurate and sage manner.
