Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Microsoft 365 Office Client Engineer

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorganChase within Employee Platforms, you own the packaging, validation, and release execution for Office client software across a global virtual and physical desktop estate.

In the Microsoft 365 Office Client Engineering space, you own the packaging, validation, and release execution for Office client software across a global virtual and physical desktop estate.

You are accountable for getting validated updates and new capabilities onto the desktop safely, at scale, and on a predictable schedule.

This is a hands-on engineering role with release accountability.

You will build the test and deployment pipeline that turns a multi-week manual cycle into a repeatable run, define the ring strategy and go/no-go criteria that protect line-of-business add-ins and macros, and act as the technical escalation point with Microsoft.

The environment is heavily customized and tightly controlled, so speed has to be earned through automation, evidence, and a rollback path that works.

Job Responsibilities


* Own engineering, deployment, patching, validation, and support of Office 365 Apps across enterprise desktop environments.


* Lead release planning and execution using pilot groups, deployment rings, quality gates, and rollback procedures.


* Automate deployment, testing, monitoring, and operational processes using scripting and infrastructure tools.


* Troubleshoot complex application and endpoint issues using logs, telemetry, and root-cause analysis.


* Serve as the technical escalation point for software releases, infrastructure incidents, and vendor support engagements.


* Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate infrastructure analysis and design documentation, validating outputs and handling operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements.


* Partner with application, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure compatibility, compliance, and operational readiness.


* Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted practices within delivery and automation routines to identify recurring issues and validate remediation options, ensuring changes are traceable/auditable and aligned to resiliency and security expectations.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills


* Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.


* Deep experience with Microsoft Office 365 deployment, servicing, configuration, and support.


* Strong expertise with Microsoft Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM), Intune, and endpoint management technologies.
