What you'll do on a typical day:


* Lead and develop a high-performing regional category management team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, commercial excellence and continuous improvement.


* Work with the Head of Procurement to support the development and execution of the regional procurement strategy, ensuring category priorities are aligned to GXO's business objectives, customer commitments and transformation agenda.


* Develop and execute category strategies that deliver sustainable value creation through strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, demand optimization, specification management and commercial innovation.


* Identify and deliver opportunities to improve EBITDA, productivity, working capital, service performance and risk management across assigned categories.


* Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships that create innovation, operational improvement, supply resilience and long-term commercial advantage.


* Use market intelligence, benchmarking, spend analytics and emerging technologies to identify opportunities, challenge conventional approaches and shape category strategies.


* Champion the adoption of digital procurement tools, advanced analytics and agentic AI capabilities within category management activity to improve decision quality, productivity and speed of execution.


* Lead complex sourcing initiatives and commercial negotiations that balance cost, quality, service, innovation, risk and sustainability objectives.


* Partner with Operations, Engineering, IT, Finance, Legal and Business Development to ensure procurement is fully, integrated into strategic projects, customer solutions and wider business change programs.
Support the evaluation and deployment of innovative technologies, products and services that enable GXO operational excellence and future growth.
