This is a temporary, part-time opportunity.
This assignment is projected to last until early of March 2027.
Pay: $26.75
Schedule: 8:00AM - 5:00PM (Up to 30 hours per week.
Schedule may vary depending on office needs)
In-Office 3 days per week (Mon, Wed, & Thurs) 6 Hour remote day on Tuesday.
Work Location: 1460 Garden of the Gods Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80907
JOB SUMMARY:
Supports the financial operations of Goodwill of Colorado by preparing journal entries, maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, processing invoices, and assisting with Foundation reporting.
This position works closely with internal departments and external partners under the guidance of the Senior Accountant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Responsible for ensuring all standard journal entries for Goodwill are complete.
Also, prepare non-standard and adjusting journal entries as needed for Goodwill.
* Have an understanding of restricted donations and maintain a schedule of those donations to Goodwill.
Will work closely with the Foundation team to track all events, donations, and pledges outstanding.
* Perform general ledger reconciliations for credit card deposits in transit, banking, and accounts receivable accounts for Goodwill as assigned.
* Prepare quarterly board packet financial statements for the Foundation.
* Process assigned invoices into financials.
* Maintain confidentiality over all financial, payroll, and personnel information.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
A Bachelors degree in Accounting is required; may substitute known performance for formal education.
EXPERIENCE:
Must have a solid background in applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as they relate to not-for-profit entities.
* Computer proficiency is required.
* Word processing, spreadsheet, and computerized accounting system experience are essential to this position.
* Completeness, accuracy, and punctuality of reports and other assignments.
* Ability to assist the Organization in obtaining an unqualified opinion on the Organization’s audited financial statements.
* The ability to assist the Director of Finance in meeting or exceeding accreditation standards approved or endorsed by Goodwill Industries International (GII) and CARF.
* Responsibility shown in ensuring all financial information is kept confidential.
