What are we looking for?

The Geotechnical Special Project Manager is responsible for managing transportation projects for the local DOT team from initiation through completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meeting client expectations.

The role requires regular communication with client representatives to obtain project requirements, coordinate activities, and maintain a clear understanding of project scope, objectives, and workflow.

This position reports to the Regional Chief Engineer and will travel an average of 15% of the time.

What you'll do:


* Perform geotechnical engineering evaluations and analyses using standard engineering principles, procedures, and design criteria


* Prepare preliminary geotechnical engineering reports, recommendations, and supporting project documentation


* Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical work plans


* Prepare work assignments, task orders, and related project deliverables


* Attend client meetings and coordinate with project stakeholders regarding technical requirements and project progress


* Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal project teams


* Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting project deadlines and quality expectations


* Conduct site visits, field observations, and inspections as required


* Maintain compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards


* Provide guidance and leadership to on-site team members to resolve issues
