Process Controls Engineer

Your Job

Georgia-Pacific's Consumer Products division is seeking a Process Controls Engineer to join our Engineering Team at the Green Bay Broadway Mill in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

In this role, you will collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and process control subject matter experts to support and improve manufacturing performance through the application of advanced control systems, instrumentation, and automation technologies.

You will be responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and support of process control systems and field instrumentation that drive operational excellence, reliability, safety, and productivity.

This position offers the opportunity to work with industry-leading technologies including Emerson DeltaV Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Valmet Quality Control Systems (QCS), field instrumentation, and control valves, while contributing to capital projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and long-term operational sustainability.

The Green Bay Broadway Mill manufactures industry-leading bath tissue, napkin, and towel products that support customers across North America.

Our Process Controls team is focused on improving safety, reliability, and performance through innovative automation and control solutions.

In this role, you'll collaborate with experienced engineers and operations partners, contribute to high-impact improvement projects, and help drive continuous innovation in a world-class manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do


* Partner with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to troubleshoot process and control system issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.


* Lead and support process improvement and capital projects from concept through startup.


* Define project scope, develop technical requirements, and manage project execution.


* Design, implement, and support process control systems, instrumentation, and automation solutions.


* Read and interpret P&IDs, loop sheets, electrical drawings, and control system documentation.


* Specify and procure field instrumentation, analyzers, and control valves for projects of varying size and complexity.


* Collaborate with designers to develop electrical, loop, and I/O drawings.


* Manage construction activities, including bid package development, contractor coordination, installation oversight, and field commissioning.


* Support startup, checkout, and optimization of new and existing control systems.


* Develop knowledge of advanced process control concepts, control loop tuning, and emerging automation technologies.


* Work with Emerson DeltaV DCS and Valmet QCS platforms to support manufacturing operations and project implementation.
