Instructional Aide

The School Aide works alongside teachers, school leaders, and operations teammates to provide classroom assistance, student supervision, administrative support, and dependable care throughout the school day.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Classroom Support · Prepare instructional materials, organize classroom resources, and support teacher-directed lessons and learning activities.

· Provide one-on-one or small-group assistance, including support for scholars with special needs or disabilities, as directed by appropriate staff.

· Help scholars complete assignments, remain engaged, and follow classroom routines and expectations.

Student Supervision and Safety · Supervise scholars in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, arrival and dismissal areas, recess, field trips, and school events.

· Reinforce school expectations, monitor behavior, and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.

· Report injuries, safety concerns, incidents, or unusual behavior promptly to the appropriate staff member.

Administrative and Operational Support · Assist with filing, copying, answering phones, organizing materials, maintaining supplies, and supporting accurate records and inventory.

· Assist with arrival, dismissal, activities, events, and other daily campus operations; handle school funds only when assigned and according to procedure.

Health Behavior and Student Welfare · Follow student health and safety procedures; provide basic first aid only within current training and certification and refer medical concerns appropriately.

· Reinforce positive behavior, help de-escalate minor conflicts, and refer serious or recurring concerns to appropriate school staff.

· Protect scholar privacy and model professionalism, patience, respect, and collaboration in every interaction.

Qualifications and Skills · Associate degree from an accredited college or university is required; related education or child-development coursework is preferred.

· CPR and first aid certification is required or must be obtained within the timeframe established by DPAC Nevada.

· Successful completion of all required background checks, fingerprinting, and employment clearances.

· Strong communication, organization, multitasking, teamwork, judgment, and conflict-management skills.

Work Environment Work occurs throughout classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, offices, and other campus areas.
