Production Technician - Camden

Dunbarton Corporation is seeking a Production Technician to join our Camden Tennessee team who is responsible for the fabrication, finishing, and movement of Dunbarton products at the Camden Plant.

Essential Job Functions Operates all production, assembly, and packaging equipment, including door preparation, sub-assembly insertion, hardware assembly, and wrapping, strapping, and stapling equipment; prepares and cleans up each processWelds hollow metal frames into door/frame units and individual products without scrap or reworkReads and implements blueprints, engineering drawings, work tickets, and production and shipping schedules, and confers with management on deviationsInspects product at each stage of production, takes corrective action to prevent defects and product loss, and reworks damaged product to salvage it where possiblePerforms shipping, receiving, and inventory functions, including verifying counts and labeling, preparing shipping documentation, requisitioning materials, reconciling physical inventories, and recording production and transaction data in the ERP systemOperates forklifts and other industrial material-moving equipment to move materials in production, inventory, and dock areas, and builds pallets and shipping containers to specificationMaintains a safe, orderly work area; wears assigned PPE; follows Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures; and follows safety, 6S, LEAN, and Kaizen programsRemains cross-trained on all plant work stations; trains and mentors other employees; attends required training and meetings; works overtime and travels as requiredAdheres to work schedule and attendance requirements, including regular on-site attendance at Dunbarton facilities and nights and weekends as required; regular on-site presence is an essential function of this positionPerforms other work as directed and required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of hollow metal and wood door and frame manufacturing, including fabrication, welding, finishing, assembly, and packagingKnowledge of paints, stains, solvents, and coatings, including their properties, application, hazards, and disposalKnowledge of hazardous material handling, storage, labeling, disposal, and spill response, including HazCom and HAZWOPERKnowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control practicesKnowledge of safety requirements and equipment, including PPE, Lock-Out/Tag-Out, and firefighting equipmentSkill in operating and maintaining production, welding, paint, and material-handling equipment, including forklifts and hand and power toolsSkill in reading blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and production and shipping schedulesSkill in use of an ERP system and word processing, database, and spreadsheet programsAbility to detect quality defects, determine root cause, and take corrective actionAbility to measure accurately with tape measures and calipers and to distinguish colors and shadesAbility to obtain and retain a current forklift licenseAbility to c...
