Telecommunications Network Engineer

CenCore is seeking a Telecommunications Network Engineer to support the maintenance, sustainment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of existing data and voice networks.

This role helps identify, diagnose, document, resolve, or escalate routine network issues using established scripts, procedures, test equipment, and network analysis tools.

The position supports mission-critical network reliability by monitoring alarms, executing scheduled maintenance routines, and coordinating with users and network vendors as needed.

This is a Level 0 network engineering role requiring foundational experience, an IAT Level II baseline certification, and an active TS/SCI full scope polygraph clearance.

Key Responsibilities Monitor data and voice system networks for messages, alarms, issues, and routine operational events.Confirm the accuracy and severity of network alarms, messages, or issues and initiate resolution or escalation as appropriate.Resolve routine network problems using network analyzers, WAN test equipment, network simulators, scripts, and standard procedures.Troubleshoot problems using predefined procedures and research issues to determine whether they can be resolved through standard workflows.Perform first- and second-level problem determination, including issues escalated beyond help desk support.Execute scheduled network maintenance routines in accordance with standard procedures.Activate and deactivate network lines according to established schedules.Document issues, troubleshooting results, actions taken, resolutions, and escalations.Communicate alarm activity, network issues, and resulting actions to appropriate stakeholders.Interface with users and network vendors while following detailed work instructions.
