Supply Chain & Procurement Project Leader

POSITION OVERVIEW:

 

The Supply Chain & Procurement Project Leader is accountable for the design, establishment, and launch of the end-to-end supply chain operating model for major plant startups and other strategic business initiatives.

Working in close partnership with the Product Owner, site leadership, Operations, Engineering, Finance, Information Technology, Quality and regional and global Supply Chain partners, this role leads the Supply Chain activities required to take a new operation from concept and project planning through supplier and material readiness, systems implementation, production launch, ramp-up, stabilization, and transition to the permanent site organization.

 

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 


* Own the integrated supply chain, logistics, and procurement readiness plan aligned with the project scope, operating model, implementation timeline, production ramp, and business objectives. 


* Lead local supplier identification, evaluation, selection, qualification, and onboarding in partnership with Regional Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Operations. 


* Ensure supplier agreements, commercial terms, service expectations, and contract requirements are understood, implemented, and monitored throughout the project. 


* Partner with Regional Supply Chain to develop and execute raw material and component sourcing strategies that support cost, quality, delivery, capacity, and continuity requirements. 


* Lead production planning readiness, including material requirements planning (MRP), capacity planning, inventory parameters, scheduling processes, and integration with the regional Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) process. 


* Establish inbound and outbound transportation strategies, including carrier readiness, routing, lead times, delivery schedules, freight requirements, and escalation processes. 


* Develop warehousing, storage, material flow, material handling, point-of-use delivery, and finished goods strategies that support safe and efficient operations. 


* Define equipment, space, labor, and process requirements for receiving, storage, material movement, packaging, shipping, and finished goods management. 


* Lead SAP and related system readiness for supply chain and scheduling processes, including master data, planning parameters, status boards, delivery points, transactions, reporting, testing, and user readiness.


* Establish the initial inventory strategy for launch and ramp, including pipeline requirements, component safety stock levels, raw material, WIP, finished goods, and supplier-held inventory.


* Lead organizational readiness and change management activities to ensure successful adoption of new supply chain processes, systems, roles, and operating practices in support of site startup and ramp-up objectives.
