Service Technician – Gymnasium Equipment

The Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, installing, and maintaining gymnasium and athletic equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and high-quality operation.

This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and customer service.

Technicians work independently and as part of a team at schools, recreation centers, universities, and other athletic facilities.

Key Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain gymnasium and athletic equipment, including but not limited to basketball goals, volleyball systems, divider curtains, wall pads, bleachers, scoreboards, and related mechanical and electrical systemsPerform preventative maintenance inspections to ensure equipment safety and compliance with manufacturer specifications and industry standardsInstall new gymnasium equipment and retrofit or upgrade existing systemsIdentify worn, damaged, or unsafe components and recommend repairs or replacementsAccurately document service work, parts used, and time spent on each jobCommunicate clearly with customers regarding equipment condition, repair needs, and service recommendationsFollow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, fall protection, and proper use of tools and liftsMaintain service vehicle, tools, and inventory in a clean and organized mannerCollaborate with supervisors and team members to schedule work and meet project deadlines.
