Transport & Customs Manager

Mission


* Manage the transport, customs service provider for all incoming and outgoing shipments.


* Liaise with freight forwarders, broker, transporter, and Custom Authorities to ensure on time delivery of shipments.


* Ensure customer satisfaction through high and sustainable logistic service level.


* Stay close to customers to deliver the most reliable & personalized Supply Chain and improve customer experience.

What will you do?

Operation - Shipment Handling


* Manage the import and export activities to ensure delivery on time


* Liaise with Broker, Freight Forwarder and Local Custom Department for smooth custom clearance of shipments


* Adherence to the shipping procedures to ensure compliance with the countries' shipping rules and regulations and ISO standard


* Annual Customs audit by Customs Authorities


* Contributor of Tax Audit


* Manage and monitor FTA achievement for max saving

Supplier Management


* Manage and monitor the performance of freight forwarders, transporters and customs brokerages to ensure delivery of shipments on time.


* Ensure billing accuracy of freight payment and import duties declaration


* Conduct supplier performance review to ensure supplier adherence to the committed lead time


* Handling of Marine Claim which arises from freight forwarders or transporters rough handling to ensure maximum recovery on losses


* Work jointly with freight forwarders on global/regional transport plan deployment to minimize transition difficulties during implementation

Customer Management


* Liaise with internal and external customers on traffic matters to ensure smooth operation


* Improve service level by identifying optimization of processes and procedures

Export Control


* Carry the export control activity (4Ws)


* Escalating Regional Export Control for special cases

Reports


* Compile shipping data for management reporting (Air Tonnage, Free Tax Agreement Saving, inbound & outbound transport cost)


* Perform analysis of transport cost and shipping tonnage to assist the supply planning team in determining the best mode of transport (air/sea ratio)


* Vendor KPIs' review (Forwarders and Customs Brokerage)


* Reports related to Government regulation

What qualifications will make you successful?


* University degrees - Industrial Management / Transport / Logistics


* At least 10 years-experience in Logistics management (customs management, transportation, warehouse management, and inventory management)


* Good understanding of the electrical market, demand and supply planning


* Analytical skills, ISO knowledge, SAP, ORACLE


* Fluent in spoken and written English
