Job Description:

As an Industrial IT Systems Engineer, you own assigned systems and play a central role in managing and improving our ISA‑95 Level 1 & 2 Industrial IT landscape across the Ghent sites.

You are accountable for keeping Industrial IT applications stable, secure, and compliant and for bringing new systems successfully into daily operations.

Working closely with engineering, IT, QA, cybersecurity, and external vendors, you deliver a reliable, future‑proof, and continuously improving Industrial IT environment.

You combine solid technical expertise with structured execution, sound judgement, and a hands‑on approach.

Tasks and Authorizations


* Own assigned Industrial IT applications and ensure stable, compliant, and reliable operations.



* Diagnose and resolve system issues and implement improvements that increase performance and availability.



* Participate in a rotating weekend on‑call service to safeguard system continuity.



* Execute and coordinate essential lifecycle activities, including configuration, monitoring, documentation, user management, patching, backup, and recovery.



* Coordinate with IT, engineering, and vendors on system upgrades, integrations, and the deployment of new Industrial IT applications.



* Plan and execute commissioning, testing, validation, and operational readiness activities for new or updated systems.



* Take an active role in deviations, CAPAs, investigations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.



* Communicate clearly with stakeholders about system health, risks, decisions, and project progress.

Qualifications

We are looking for a solid technical foundation combined with relevant professional experience and the ability to translate expertise into independent system ownership.
