Lead Content Writer and Editor

Role Summary The Lead Content Writer and Editor develops, edits, and leads the production of strategic content that translates complex patient safety, medical professional liability, insurance, financial, and organizational information into clear, accurate, and engaging communications.

Working across CRICO and Candello, our medical professional liability data collaborative, this role supports editorial projects from concept through publication and helps ensure that content aligns with audience needs, organizational priorities, and our editorial standards.

The role partners with clinicians, analysts, organizational leaders, and other subject-matter experts to synthesize complex information, identify meaningful stories and key messages, and communicate data-informed insights, emerging risks, and opportunities to improve patient safety and mitigate risk.

This individual also serves as a communications partner and department representative, preparing and presenting written and verbal content for internal stakeholders, senior leaders, and external audiences as appropriate.

The role supports the communications team by mentoring colleagues on writing, editing, storytelling, and editorial standards.

Responsibilities Enterprise Content Development Lead and support the development of CRICO and Candello content from concept through publication, including reports, newsletters, case studies, web content, white papers, journal articles, executive/Board materials, and other communications as needed.Research, write, edit, restructure, and refine complex material independently and in collaboration with subject-matter experts and organizational leaders.Develop articles and advance thought leadership based on CRICO and Candello research, data analyses, and subject-matter expertise for publication in external industry, healthcare, and peer-reviewed publications.Identify key messages, narrative approaches, and audience needs to translate complex clinical information and malpractice claims data into compelling, accessible content.Ensure content is accurate, appropriately sourced, and consistent with CRICO and Candello editorial, brand, and writing standards.

Data Interpretation and Storytelling Collaborate with analysts and subject-matter experts to communicate meaningful trends in medical professional liability, patient safety, and related data.Translate quantitative and qualitative findings into clear narratives, key messages, visual concepts, and actionable insights for clinical, executive, insurance, and other audiences.Review data-driven content and visualizations for accuracy, appropriate context, and consistency with methodology and source information.

Executive and Governance Communications Develop and edit communications and materials for quarterly Board meetings.
