Quality Lead Inspector SOM-006

The Quality Lead Inspector oversees quality monitoring, inspections, and QMS compliance.

Conducts product and process audits to ensure adherence to SOPs, specifications, customer requirements, and Lean Manufacturing standards.

Maintains a clean, organized work area following 5S principles and complies with company policies and attendance requirements.
 


* Perform product/process audits, inspections, and material testing using appropriate hardware, fixtures, and gauges.

Monitor adherence to SOPs, specifications, customer requirements, inspection/failure catalogs, and work instructions.

Promptly escalate issues and coordinate with Quality and other departments to resolve them.


* Coordinate daily Inspector activities with the Quality Coordinator, area supervisors, and production plans as needed.


* Disposition and control non-conforming material, including required SAP transactions.

Escalate issues to the Quality Engineer/Manager as necessary.


* Ensure First Off/Last Off processes are completed effectively, including product, component, and machine verifications/settings, per work instructions and procedures.

Ensure applicable Quality Alerts and Deviations are communicated to operators.


* Ensure proper containment and control of non-conforming material.

Escalate issues as needed and support Production with containment activities.


* Ensure measurement systems and equipment (e.g., calipers, scales, gauges, cameras/red rabbits) are functioning properly, correctly used, and within calibration requirements.

Report and remove damaged, malfunctioning, lost, or replacement-needed equipment from use as applicable.


* Maintain organized (5S) workstations, instruments, and detailed records.

Support the review and updating of work and inspection instructions as needed.


* Ensure quality documentation is current, accurate, and available for production use during industrialization trials and serial production.


* Identify opportunities for improvement based on customer issues, high scrap rates, and process concerns.

Communicate issues to appropriate personnel, recommend proactive solutions, and verify effective resolution.


* Support Inspector and Auditor activities as needed.


* Participate in the Internal Auditing program, including manufacturing process, product, and dock audits, to ensure compliance with documented procedures and customer-specific requirements.


* Monitor, report, and identify trends related to scrap, non-conforming products, and process variation using SPC when applicable.

Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions using established problem-solving methodologies.


* Perform SAP transactions and create or update work and inspection instructions as required.


* Maintain organized and detailed records, inspection plan logs, and quality samples, including failure boards, inspection boards, Green Rabbits, and Red Rabbits.
