Part-Time Research Lab Tech II

The Research Laboratory Technician position involves conducting molecular and cellular biology research, including tissue culture, DNA/RNA/protein extraction, and data collection and analysis.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in laboratory research employing innovative techniques.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Communicates problems or matters of a scientific, technical, and/or administrative nature.Maintains accurate records of tests conducted, results, data, including calculation of results from supplied data, obtained data, and statistics.Responsible for inventory maintenance at each bench assignment.Performs a variety of molecular and cellular biology assays using tissue cultures and tissue extracts, including one or more of the following: -Western blotting -Immunofluorescence staining -ELISA -RNA isolation/RT-PCR Prepares stock solutions and reagents.Maintains a clean, efficient work area and replenishes/orders supplies as needed.All other duties as assigned.
