Assisted Learning Education Assistant

Position Reports to: Assisted Learning Director Position Classification: Three days a week; 7:30-3:30, at-will, non-exempt, school year, hourly Position Requirements: Minimum high school diploma; college preferred Ability to follow the teachers instructions Self-starter mindset that looks for ways to help Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work positively with the teacher and students Strong skill-set working with students Character Description: Born-again Christian Models a Christian lifestyle Person of integrity Loyal and maintains confidence Position Overview: Assisted Learning Education Assistants work with both classroom and Assisted Learning teachers to accomplish classroom objectives, provide in class support, and provide needed accommodations or services for identified students.

Position Responsibilities: Supervise instructional activities to help students understand lessons Ability to work with and support students with disabilities and/or specific learning goals and accommodations Work with small groups of students or with one student at a time Help Assisted Learning teachers with clerical tasks Confer with classroom teachers on student support and accommodations Oversee students outside of the classroom during scheduled and unscheduled breaks Work with students who need additional instruction Prepare materials and equipment for activities Discuss students' progress with the Assisted Learning teacher Provide oversight of students during activities such as recess or lunch Monitor related virtual service appointments, as needed Other position appropriate duties as deemed necessary by the Principal or Head of School.
