Summary - basic function of the role

Build your future in the skilled trades through a hands-on Machinist Apprentice opportunity centered on job shadowing, observation, and guided practice alongside experienced machinists.

This entry-level role is designed for individuals who are ready to learn, solve problems, and develop the technical skills needed to produce precision components using both manual and advanced CNC equipment.

As your knowledge and confidence grow, you will have opportunities to assist with machining tasks and take on more responsibility under appropriate guidance, building a strong foundation for a long-term career in a growing, high-demand trade.

No prior machining experience is required-just a commitment to safety, quality, learning, and teamwork.

Shift: 6am-2pm

Job Duties and Responsibilities



* Gain hands-on exposure to the machinist trade primarily through job shadowing, observation, and guided practice with experienced machinists.


* Work alongside experienced machinists to learn safe machining practices, production standards, and proven techniques.


* Learn to set up and operate manual mills, manual lathes, CNC mills, CNC lathes, and multi-axis machines.


* Read and interpret blueprints, process sheets, work instructions, and basic machining specifications.


* Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools to inspect completed parts.


* Load materials, select tooling, set machine offsets, and assist with machine setups under appropriate guidance.


* Monitor machines and make approved adjustments to maintain product quality and efficient operation.


* Identify defective parts, tool wear, and equipment concerns and report them promptly.


* Complete required production, quality, safety, and apprenticeship documentation.


* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow all safety and quality requirements.


* Perform increasingly complex machining assignments as skills, knowledge, and proficiency are developed.


* Perform other duties as assigned.
