Quality Control Intern

JOB SUMMARY The Quality Control Intern will support Quality Control Inspectors and Technicians in ensuring that precast concrete products are manufactured in accordance with company quality standards, project specifications, drawings, and applicable industry requirements.

This position provides hands-on experience with precast concrete manufacturing, inspection processes, quality documentation, and production operations.

The Quality Control Intern will work closely with the Quality Control department, production employees, project managers, engineers, and plant staff to identify and address quality issues and help ensure products are manufactured correctly and to specification.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, eager to learn, and comfortable working in an active plant and field environment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Assist Quality Control Inspectors and Technicians with pre-pour and post-pour inspections of precast concrete products and setups.

Conduct inspections during production to verify that products and form setups meet design specifications, drawings, and quality standards.

Measure concrete products and form setups using a tape measure and other appropriate tools to verify dimensions and accuracy.

Compare products, setups, and components to shop drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.

Assist with inspection of raw materials to verify compliance with project requirements.

Assist with concrete laboratory testing, including slump, air content, temperature, and compressive strength testing under appropriate supervision.

Utilize tablets, computers, and quality control software to complete inspection checklists and document pre-pour and post-pour inspections.

Maintain accurate and organized records of inspections, tests, non-conformance reports, and other quality documentation.

Prepare reports summarizing inspection findings and communicate discrepancies or quality concerns to the appropriate Quality Control and production personnel.

Work closely with production employees and plant staff to ensure quality control procedures are followed throughout the manufacturing process.

Coordinate with the Quality Control department and production team to identify, communicate, and help resolve quality issues.

Collaborate with project managers and engineers to address quality concerns and support corrective actions.

Cross-train in pre-pour and post-pour inspection processes and assist team members as needed.

Assist in laboratory organization, sample preparation, testing activities, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Learn and apply industry standards, quality procedures, and best practices related to precast concrete manufacturing.

Assist with maintaining compliance with applicable local, state, and federal requirements related to concrete production.

Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.

Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
