Lead Program Engineer - Plastics

ConMet is seeking a Lead Program Engineer to manage awarded customer programs from concept through completion.

This role combines technical engineering expertise and project management to deliver programs on time, within budget, and to quality requirements.

The position will collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams, support product development, manage APQP activities, and may lead and mentor program engineers.

This role requires working in an office environment (not hybrid or remote) at ConMet's corporate headquarters in Vancouver, Washington.   Non-local candidates must be open to relocation (relocation assistance available.

Key Responsibilities


* Lead projects using established tools to track time, cost, quality, scope, and risks.


* Define project objectives, technical requirements, resources, schedules, and deliverables.


* Develop and manage detailed project plans using APQP processes.


* Drive on-time completion of APQP phases and program management signoffs.


* Manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, and change-control activities.


* Partner with customers, sales, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and other departments.


* Support customer requests and business-growth initiatives.


* Develop project documentation, reports, spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps.


* Monitor program performance and escalate issues to management as needed.


* Mentor and support the development of program engineers.


* Lead, coach, and develop direct reports when assigned.

Qualifications


* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.


* 8 years minimum experience managing engineering, manufacturing, or product-development projects.


* Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.


* Experience with APQP and cross-functional program management preferred.


* Two or more years of experience in the plastics-industry experience preferred.


* Knowledge of commercial vehicles or commercial vehicle components desired.


* Experience with manufacturing, finishing, and injection-molded plastics processes preferred.


* Experience leading Project Managers or Project Engineers.
