Lead Carpenter – Lead Restoration & Specialty Projects for Thompson Restoration Associates

* Location: Columbus, OH (Onsite with up to 10% travel)


* Job/Employment Type: Full Time


* Schedule: Primary shifts Monday – Friday with weekend availability as needed


* Project Scope: Residential and Commercial Restoration & Specialty Reconstruction

The Opportunity

You will lead hands-on restoration and specialty reconstruction projects to help rebuild homes and businesses damaged by fire, water, and weather.

This role gives you the independence to solve complex site problems, direct carpentry operations, and showcase your craftsmanship within a stable, family-owned business.

You will play a central role in delivering high-quality craftsmanship while building a rewarding, long-term career.

How You Will Make an Impact:


* Execute a broad range of carpentry tasks from rough framing to high-end finish work on residential and commercial sites.


* Lead daily field operations and direct project processes while maintaining high quality standards and safety protocols.


* Interpret project drawings, manage field change orders, and coordinate building inspections to keep projects on track.


* Resolve real-time structural and finish challenges independently to maintain job site momentum and profitability.


* Document job progress and daily logs using company software to ensure seamless communication with stakeholders.


* Deliver exceptional customer service to property owners through clear, professional, and empathetic communication.

Required Qualifications & Experience:


* Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in carpentry, residential remodeling, or property damage restoration.


* Strong hands-on proficiency across multiple remodeling trades, including framing, trim work, drywall, and cabinetry.


* Proven ability to read construction plans, manage job site timelines, and work with minimal supervision.


* Technical aptitude to navigate company mobile software and record accurate daily field reports.


* Effective communication skills for interacting positively with property owners, field crews, and management.


* Ability to supply your own reliable hand and power tools along with personal job site transportation.


* Lead by example, hold yourself and your team accountable, and remain willing to roll up your sleeves—including cleaning up—to get the job done.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:


* High School Diploma or GED equivalent.


* Exposure to minor electrical, plumbing, or tile work within general remodeling environments.


* Demonstrated background leading small field teams or serving in a leadman capacity.
