Controls Specialist 1

Position Overview BLOC Resources is seeking a motivated and technically capable Controls Specialist 1 to support Southern Company operations in Ackerman, Mississippi.

This position will provide engineering and field support across multiple controls-related projects within a power generation environment.

Responsibilities include field verification of cables and wiring, site walkdowns, controls configuration and graphics, I/O list development, control narrative review and markup, cost estimating, conceptual design, layouts, and startup support.

The position is designed for candidates with approximately 0-5 years of related experience, making it an excellent opportunity for an early-career controls, electrical, instrumentation, automation, or engineering professional looking to expand their experience within the utility and power-generation industry.

The successful candidate must be comfortable transitioning between multiple projects and working collaboratively with plant personnel, design engineering teams, vendors, and other technical stakeholders.
