FAMILY SELF-SUFFICIENCY COORDINATOR I

Job Title: Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Coordinator Department: Special Programs Reports To: FSS Supervisor FLSA Status: Exempt Pay Range: $56,000- $72,000 Position Summary The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Coordinator provides comprehensive housing-based case management, workforce development support, and financial empowerment services to Public Housing and Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) participants and Homeownership (HOV) participants enrolled in or interested in the HUD Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program.

The primary objective of this position is to support households in achieving economic independence and long-term self-sufficiency in accordance with HUD FSS regulations and agency policies.

Under the direction of the FSS Supervisor, the FSS Coordinator works with residents to develop and monitor Individual Training and Services Plans (ITSPs), coordinate supportive services, support escrow and incentive activities, and advance employment and financial goals.

The position also completes HCV annual recertifications and interim reexaminations for FSS participants to ensure continued program eligibility, accurate rent determinations, and escrow calculations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities FSS/Homeownership Case Management & Self-Sufficiency Services Conduct participant assessments to identify needs and goals for participants.

Complete escrow analysisto ensure accurate account information.

Maintain accurate and confidential information.

Monitor participant progress towards goals through regularly scheduled contact/ appointments.

Conduct intake, eligibility screening, and comprehensive needs assessments.

Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Training and Services Plans (ITSPs) in compliance with HUD FSS requirements.

Support participant goals related to employment, education, income growth, financial literacy, credit repair, and asset building.

Monitor participant engagement, progress, and compliance with program requirements.Identify program graduates ensuring they meet criteria for graduation.Provide community resources for all participants to help achieve goals.

Support successful FSS program completion and transition planning.

Workforce Development & Financial Empowerment Support residents interested in workforce development, education, and training opportunities.

Coordinate referrals to employment, education, and financial empowerment partners.

Facilitate or coordinate orientations, workshops, and group activities related to self-sufficiency and economic mobility.

Escrow & Incentive Support: Monitor FSS escrow accrual in coordination with FSS supervisor, Housing Operations and Finance.Assist with the verification of Homeownership escrow.
