Job Summary

Under the direction of the Senior Training and Exercise Coordinator, collaborates with all relevant Cook County
agencies to determine the training needs and priorities of those supported by the Department of Emergency
Management and Regional Security (EMRS) through its training initiatives - focusing specifically on National
Incident Management System (NIMS).

May supervise; coordinate; plan and assist large-scale training exercises
involving multiple jurisdictions and locations.

Coordinates and collaborates internal and external departmental
training personnel to include working with other staff, both internal and external to the Department.

Assists in
the coordination, planning and oversight of the development and execution of a long-range; multi-year; multiagency
multi-jurisdictional training and exercise program.

Performs other duties as assigned.

"Supplements EMRS Emergency and Critical Incident Response by functioning as the EMRS Duty Officer and receiving
information from first responder agencies and forwarding actionable information to the EMRS management team.

Is
issued and maintains an EMRS cellular telephone and is required to answer this telephone 24 hrs.

per day when called by
EMRS leadership as a result of an emergency call back or to assist in a critical incident response."



*This Role will Report to two different locations:

69 W.

Washington (Suite 2600) & Cook County Emergency Operations Center 15900 S.

Cicero.

This position is Grant Funded.

Minimum Qualifications



* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management.

OR



* Current/ or prior military duty in a related Military Occupational Specialty (MOS).

OR



* Five (5) years of full-time work experience in Emergency Management, Sworn Fire Service, Sworn Law Enforcement or Emergency Medical Services is required.

PLUS



* Two (2) years of full-time work experience instructing, training, and/or coordinating training programs in Emergency Management; the Fire Service; Law Enforcement; Emergency Medical Services or in the military in a related MOS is required.



* Must meet all training requirements as required by the EMRS, Cook County and Granting Agencies within one year of hire is required.
