Truck Driver - 2nd Shift (Local Shuttle/CDL Required)

2nd Shift Local Shuttle Truck Driver-CDL Required This position is responsible for the safe transportation of RTP materials, products and other general commodities as directed by RTP Transportation Department.

The anticipated majority (80%) of duties would be in a day cab as a shuttle/inner city work between RTP buildings and vendors.

(Potential opportunity for duties to be over the road if needed (regional) miles which may occasionally require sleeper berth use or motel.) Work Schedule: 2nd Shift: 3-11pm M-F, with potential for occasional overtime based on business need.

Responsibilities Receive and follow dispatch orders/instructionsPrimarily day cab/local truck dutiesPre and Post trip inspect vehicle at specified intervals Hook up and drop trailers as directed by dispatchOperate forklift and perform loading and unloading as needed/requiredDrive vehicle on specified routes observing Department of Transportation, State, Federal and RTP Company guidelines safe driving rules and regulationsCommunicate as directed, verbally or in writingPick up and deliver dry van (skid) products, pneumatic bulk product and trash compactorUnloading/loading of pneumatic trailers with use of PTO Blower, Communicate with Customer, Maintenance, Safety, and Dispatch on directions, breakdowns, accidents, product damage, emergencies, and other issuesFuel vehicle at approved locationsPrepare all trip records and DOT logs daily- use ELDs (electronic log device) as required.Participate in Company meetings and quality improvement activities.
