Groundskeeper | YMCA Camp Seafarer

POSITION SUMMARY: The Groundskeeper Iperformsall duties as assigned by the Facilities Director as well as ensures safety, cleanliness, and proper use or care of equipmentat all times.

Theyare responsible fortrimming and mowing of grounds, trash/debris pick-up and general grounds maintenance at a level defined by the Facilities Director.

Theyare responsible formanaging these functionsin accordance withthe stated mission, goals, and policiesestablishedby the administrative staff, governing committees, and Board of Directors of the YMCA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintains a clean and safe camp facility, including main buildings, cabins, trails, grounds, storage areas, vehicles, etc.

Thisincludes both interior and exterior.Assistsin keeping grounds clean,maintainedand functional for all participants;to includeoperating mowers, weed eaters, clippers,etc.Performs all preventative maintenancerequiredon equipment andassistswith therepairingof all equipment used forgroundsmaintenance, as required.Assistsin team efforts with essential seasonal site preparations,shut downs, and unplanned events such as storm damage cleanup and repair.Modelsrelationship-building skills in all interactions.

Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication withinareaof responsibility.

Completion of all required annual trainings related to safety, compliance, and child protection as assigned.

Other duties and responsibilities assigned byFacilitiesDirector or Assistant Facilities Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma/GED preferred.Experience in construction, facility maintenance, vehicle maintenance, or equivalent work.Ability tooperatemaintenance equipment and lawn maintenance equipment, and perform general maintenance and general knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and light carpentry.Ability to read and follow oral and written directions.The position requires the ability to work with applications on electronic devices.Strong communicationand interpersonal skills are required.Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.Positiveattitude andenjoyingworking in a team-oriented environment is essential to success.Multi-lingualdesired but notrequired.
