Maintenance Supervisor

Georgia-Pacific is now hiring a Maintenance Supervisor to in Janesville, WI!

This individual will assist the Maintenance Manager in ensuring the department performs its functions while meeting the safety, quality, efficiency, and scrap goals of the company.

They must maintain records in accordance with all company, regulatory, state, local, and federal requirements, while ensuring all equipment is maintained in a safe and reliable manner, meeting or exceeding all requirements.

They will also ensure all buildings, grounds, and equipment are maintained to meet or exceed all requirements of state, local, federal and outside licensing agencies.

They will assist the Maintenance Manager in ensuring that all personnel are adequately trained in the correct procedures for safety, maintenance, and policy conformance.

This role will be responsible for leading a maintenance team comprised of three shifts to include weekend duty (approx.

18 employees).

What You Will Do


* Ensures all Maintenance Technicians are adequately trained, scheduled, and equipped so the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.


* Be proactive in ensuring that buildings, machines, and support equipment are utilized in a safe and efficient manner, conduct training as required.


* Repair, service, and perform skilled maintenance on manufacturing, production support equipment, vehicles, building, and grounds.


* Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner and to identify opportunities for improvement.


* Procure and ensure inventory of repair and spare parts are available, assist in maintaining an adequate stock and inventory.


* Work with outside contractors, vendors, and OEMs to ensure safe operation, installation, and repair of all equipment, building, and grounds repairs, while ensuring all are to code, acting as project manager on assigned tasks.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


* Experience working in a maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial environment


* An understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics and/or Numatics concepts


* Leadership experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment

What Will Put You Ahead


* Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)


* Previous experience as a Maintenance or Electrical Supervisor


* Experience working in thermoforming and/or extrusion operations
