Georgia-Pacific is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our Power and Drives Capital Projects Team in Green Bay, WI for the Summer of 2027! Internship will be supporting the Tissue Towel Napkin, Containerboard and Cellulose, and Dixie divisions.

This role offers hands-on experience supporting projects that improve safety, reliability, productivity, and cost-efficiency throughout our facilities.

What You Will Do

The Electrical Engineer Intern on the Power and Drives Capital Projects Team supports the electrical systems that keep our mills running from the utility tie through distribution, protection and relaying, and out to the paper machine drive systems.

You will work on capital projects, contributing to design and engineering deliverables and then following that work into the field for installation, checkout, and startup.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)



* Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited university


* Coursework or project experience involving power distribution and motor control


* Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation


* Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) to track and communicate project information


* Must travel to project sites up to 25% of the time


* Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead



* Internship, co-op, research, or project experience involving electrical engineering, power systems, industrial automation, or manufacturing operations


* Understanding of NEC requirements and industrial electrical safety principles


* Coursework or project experience involving electrical power systems design, protection systems, industrial networking, or automation systems


* Experience with power system studies and modeling using tools such as EasyPower, Bentley, or ETAP, including arc flash analysis, incident energy reduction and mitigation


* Experience with variable frequency drives, motor starters, or paper machine drive systems
