(CRA) is seeking a Staff Archaeologist to work out of our Evansville, Indiana office.

Evansville is the third largest city in Indiana and is within 3 driving hours of five major metropolitan cities.

Job Description and Responsibilities: Responsible for conducting and supervising Phase I (inventory-level) surveys.

This involves (1) conducting pre-field research, (2) directing fieldwork and laboratory analyses, and (3) preparing technical reports.To a lesser extent there will be participation in Phase II (National Register evaluation) and Phase III excavation projects.

Assist the Principal Investigator in making site-specific recommendations for NRHP eligibility and if necessary, additional or future work.Supervise project field technicians in the field and office including training, assigning tasks, monitoring accuracy, and efficiency.Responsible for project logistical arrangements such as enforcing company policies/procedures, following project and state guidelines for data collection, documentation, and reporting, and tracking project hours to stay within established budgets.Responsible for organizing and analyzing project data (pre-field research, the results of fieldwork, conducting artifact and data analyses, drafting site maps), and producing appropriate technical reports.
