The Opportunity

SHADE Industries is seeking a Carpentry and Custom Steel Structure Foreman to lead the field assembly and precise mounting of high-end architectural shade sails, steel/metal support structures, and custom fabric covers.

In this role, you will apply fine carpentry skills, layout precision, and mechanical fastening expertise to install custom outdoor shade solutions for luxury residential properties and commercial venues.

Key Responsibilities


* Architectural Installation Leadership: Lead small installation teams in the field, ensuring exact structural attachment to existing buildings, structural posts, and custom frames.


* Precision Layout and Framing: Read complex architectural plans and elevation drawings to lay out attachment points, bracketry, and metal components.


* Field Carpentry Execution: Perform custom cutting, timber framing, drilling, and mechanical fastening to integrate shade structures into existing architectural features.


* Fabric Tensioning Support: Assist in hardware rigging, cable tensioning, and final fabric sail adjustments to achieve drum-tight, weather-resistant installations.


* Client and Site Communication: Interface professionally with homeowners, architects, and project managers to review work scope and deliver finished projects.


* Quality Control and Safety: Maintain high craftsmanship standards, ensure pristine site clean-up, and enforce jobsite safety standards.

What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)


* Required


* Field Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in rough framing, finish carpentry, deck building, or custom residential installation work.


* Mechanical Aptitude: Advanced skill with power tools, laser levels, mechanical fasteners, and structural hardware layout.


* Leadership Capability: Demonstrated ability to lead 1 to 4 crew members, delegate tasks efficiently, and solve technical field challenges.


* Driver Credentials and Travel: Valid driver license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel for short-term regional assignments (1 to 4 days) several times per year.
