Specialty Surgery Manager

Veterinary Healthcare Associates (VHA) is seeking an experienced, highly credentialed veterinary professional to lead our Specialty Surgery team and oversee the coordination and operational excellence of our surgical suites.

This is a unique leadership opportunity within a multidisciplinary specialty and emergency hospital.

Our collaborative medical team includes two board-certified surgeons, a staff anesthesiologist, and specialists in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, and Neurology, providing an exceptional environment for advanced medicine, complex case management, and continued professional growth.

We are looking for a leader with deep surgical knowledge who can develop an exceptional clinical team while ensuring our surgical suites, systems, equipment, and workflows consistently support the highest standards of patient care.

What You'll Do Lead, coach, and develop Surgery technicians, assistants, and support team members.

Partner closely with our surgeons, anesthesiologist, and specialty teams to coordinate surgical caseload, staffing, and workflow.

Oversee daily surgical suite operations, scheduling, utilization, readiness, and room turnover.

Maintain exceptional standards for surgical preparation, aseptic technique, sterile processing, instrumentation, and infection prevention.

Oversee surgical equipment, instrumentation, supplies, inventory, and preventative maintenance.

Coordinate resources and preparation for scheduled, urgent, and complex surgical procedures.

Develop and continuously improve surgical workflows, SOPs, safety protocols, and quality-control processes.

Partner with VHA's Education team to advance technical competencies, training, and professional development.

Conduct employee rounding, one-on-ones, performance evaluations, and development planning.

Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve surgical efficiency, capacity, patient safety, and team experience.
