Telecommunicator

The City of Hazelwood is now hiring a Part-Time Telecommunicator.

The Part-Time Telecommunicator serves as a critical communication link between the public and emergency response personnel by receiving emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching police, fire, EMS, and other emergency services, and maintaining accurate records and communications systems.

Duties Include: Answer and prioritize incoming 911 and non-emergency calls.

Dispatch police, fire, EMS, and other emergency personnel.

Monitor radio frequencies and communication systems.

Operate radios, telephones, CCTV systems, and communication equipment.

Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Provide information and assistance to visitors and the public.

Work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and additional shifts as needed.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum one (1) year dispatcher or telecommunicator experience required.

Ability to complete the Hazelwood Police Department Field Training Program.

Ability to obtain and maintain CJIS and REJIS certifications.

Valid driver's license required.

Special Requirements: Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
