SUMMARY

The Master Scheduler is responsible to ensure products meet on-time delivery (OTD) and budget objectives at the direction of the Manufacturing Manager, working with Production, vendors, Accounting, and Customer Service

RESPONSIBILITIES


* Attend daily operation line walk to communicate Customer priorities and review department OTD.


* Attend weekly SIOP and SLB meetings to draft production commitments or timetables using sales forecasts and work in progress (WIP).


* TOC management


* Work with Manufacturing Manager to plan production schedule based on available personnel, materials, and equipment.

Create priorities for CNC and constraint locations when FIFO's not possible.


* Review production schedules to determine material requirements and material priorities.

Review with Purchasing to ensure materials are available before production release.


* Compile and prepare documentation related to production sequences.


* Create and distribute weekly production schedules to the Manufacturing Manager for wax.

Print production travelers and distribute weekly.


* Create and distribute daily foundry production schedules to individual cast units.

Monitor alloy release and alloy charge cutting to ensure materials are available for the production schedule.


* Confer with wax and foundry Manufacturing Managers to assess progress against production schedules and discuss needed changes.


* Monitor inventory levels to ensure WIP is available to meet Customer demand.

Create reruns when scrap exceeds planned yield rates.


* Communicate with Production and Customer Service on delays, interruptions, difficulties, and reprioritization.


* Revise and distribute production schedules as necessary due to labor or material shortages, backlogs, etc., collaborating with sales and management.


* Create and distribute exception reports: materials, deliveries, schedule adherence.


* Monitor and report on plant compliance with the sales plan.
