Medical Assistant / Patient Services Coordinator – Integrated Behavioral Health Clinic

Job Summary iCare Health Services, LLC is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and highly organized Medical Assistant / Patient Services Coordinator to support our Integrated Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic.

This is a hybrid clinical and front-office position designed for an individual who is comfortable supporting healthcare providers while also managing patient scheduling, registration, telephone communication, and day-to-day patient-service functions.

The Medical Assistant / Patient Services Coordinator serves as an important connection between patients, providers, nursing staff, behavioral health clinicians, case management, and administrative staff.

The ideal candidate will have excellent customer-service skills, strong attention to detail, experience working in a healthcare environment, and the ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality when assisting individuals receiving behavioral health, substance-use, and physical-health services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Medical Assistant / Clinical Support Greet and prepare patients for scheduled clinical appointments.

Obtain and accurately document vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiratory rate, height, weight, and other measurements as appropriate.

Review and update patient demographics, medication lists, allergies, pharmacy information, and other information within the scope of the position.

Prepare examination and treatment rooms before and after patient encounters.

Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other clinical providers with patient-flow activities.

Perform appropriately authorized point-of-care or CLIA-waived testing after required training and competency validation.

Properly label, handle, document, and process specimens when applicable and within assigned responsibilities.

Assist with obtaining outside medical records, laboratory results, hospital records, and other clinical information requested by providers.

Communicate provider instructions to patients when specifically directed and appropriate for the position.

Route clinical questions, medication concerns, abnormal findings, and urgent patient concerns promptly to the appropriate licensed clinical professional.

Maintain appropriate infection-control practices and clinical supply inventories.

Assist with clinical forms, referrals, orders, and follow-up coordination.

Maintain timely, accurate, and professional documentation in the electronic health record.

Patient Services / Front Desk Welcome patients and visitors in a professional, respectful, and trauma-informed manner.

Complete patient check-in and check-out.

Answer incoming telephone calls and route calls appropriately.

Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments.

Coordinate provider calendars and help maintain efficient patient flow.

Make appointment reminder and follow-up calls.

Assist with new-patient registration and collection of required forms and documentation.
