Job Summary

The Bartender creates a welcoming, engaging social atmosphere.

You will mix and serve beverages, host community events, and ensure responsible alcohol service.

This role requires balancing standard hospitality with a deep understanding of residents' specific dietary needs and cognitive care plans.

The Bartender's function of this role is to operate the community pub, lounge, or dining venue.

You are responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to residents, their families, and guests.

Beyond mixology, you will act as a central figure in the social life of the community, fostering joy and building lasting relationships.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities


* Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with standard recipes and community guidelines.


* Know and accommodate residents' specific dietary restrictions, health conditions, and preferences.


* Prepare and serve light pub fare, snacks, or garnishes.


* Verify the legal drinking age of guests and ensure responsible alcohol service, cutting off service to anyone displaying signs of intoxication.


* Greet residents by name, listen to their stories, and provide a warm, dignified experience.


* Assist the Life Enrichment and Activities teams in coordinating happy hours, holiday parties, and theme nights.


* Help integrate new residents into the community by acquainting them with the drink menu and introducing them to other residents.


* Adapt communication style for memory care residents, focusing on patience, redirection, and emotional support


* Maintain accurate inventory of all products, replenish supplies, and submit orders to your supervisor.


* Follow strict state and community sanitation, hygiene, and safety guidelines.


* Set up the bar, polish glassware, prepare garnishes, and maintain a clean work environment.


* Operate POS systems and handle payments, while adhering to your facility's tipping policy


* Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Requirements and Qualifications


* Must meet the minimum state legal age requirement for serving alcohol (21 years old).


* Previous bartending or restaurant experience is preferred


* Exceptional patience, an empathetic and warm demeanor, and a genuine passion for working with seniors.


* Food safety certification and Food Handler State Card required.


* Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.


* A genuine desire to improve the quality of life for seniors.


* Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.


* Must maintain and have an active CPR/BLS during employment.
