Civil Construction Quality Control Manager - Idaho

Position Overview

The Quality Control (QC) Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering technical expertise, leadership, and strategic support to Idaho quality control operations.

This position ensures optimal product quality and customer satisfaction across asphalt, quarry, and recycling operations.

The QC Manager collaborates cross-functionally with internal teams, external partners, and sales to uphold the company's core values of Safety, Integrity, and Quality, while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties


* Lead and develop a high-performing QC team aligned with the company's core values.


* Champion a culture of safety, aiming for zero incidents across all QC operations.


* Maintain and enhance QC/QA processes to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.


* Oversee all quality control activities for hot mix asphalt (HMA) and aggregate production, ensuring adherence to specifications at all jurisdictional levels.


* Promote awareness of key performance indicators (KPIs) and cost control measures.


* Foster strong communication channels across business units to support product quality and customer service.


* Interface with internal and external stakeholders to meet material submittal and testing deadlines.


* Review and approve regional mix designs, balancing cost-efficiency, feasibility, and quality.


* Provide guidance to paving teams on process adjustments to meet specifications.


* Manage employee performance through coaching, feedback, recognition, and disciplinary action as needed.


* Maintain current QC/QA certifications and ensure compliance with MSHA and OSHA regulations.


* Ensure laboratory equipment and reference materials are properly maintained and calibrated.


* Mentor team members in technical, operational, and supervisory areas.


* Maintain consistent and punctual attendance.


* Perform additional duties as assigned.

Managerial Functions


* Represent the company in industry associations and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies.


* Review and coordinate weekly and monthly paving schedules.


* Handle administrative tasks including recordkeeping, reporting, and procurement.


* Support recruitment and hiring processes as needed.


* Conduct lab tours and communicate procedures to visitors and stakeholders.
