Job Summary

An Industrial Hygiene Intern at a CITGO Business Unit will be assigned to Industrial Hygiene.

The Intern actively works with the Business Unit's safety and health professionals along with operations in their designated operating areas to independently anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control health hazards associated with the work environment and refinery processes.

Position available Spring, Summer or Fall 2027

Minimum Qualifications



* Full-time student pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology, Safety, Occupational Health, Emergency Preparedness, or Public Health.


* Must have completed 30 semester hours in the topics above.


* Overall GPA of 3.0 or above

Job Duties



* Full-time student pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology or Public Health.


* Must have completed 30 semester hours in the topics above.


* Overall GPA of 3.0 or above.


* Must have a valid driver's license.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
The Maritime Transportation Security Act requires all persons who will need unescorted access to a regulated facility to have a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), issued in accordance with the rules established by the United States Coast Guard and the Transportation Security Administration.

Candidates selected for employment must obtain a TWIC card.

Job Duties II



* Conduct field surveys to ensure control measures conform to specified requirements.


* Perform routine monitoring in accordance with the CITGO exposure assessment strategy.


* Manage air monitoring equipment to ensure it is properly calibrated, maintained, and repaired.


* Review risk assessments and update exposure profiles based on monitoring results.
