The Actuarial Pricing Manager leads the development, implementation, and monitoring of pricing strategies to achieve profitability and growth objectives.
The Manager is responsible for overseeing rate indications, pricing models, and portfolio performance analysis, while collaborating with Underwriting, Finance, Product, and senior leadership to ensure pricing adequacy and competitiveness.
Responsibilities Develop and execute pricing strategies that support business objectives, optimize profitability, and comply with applicable regulatory requirements.Lead rate indication development, incorporating loss trend analysis, exposure projections, and profitability objectives to inform pricing decisions.Monitor portfolio performance and proactively identify opportunities for pricing optimization and targeted corrective actions.Lead the design, development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of actuarial pricing models.Collaborate with Underwriting, Product, Distribution, Claims and other cross-functional partners to support product development and strategic pricing initiatives.Communicate analytical findings, pricing strategies, and recommendations clearly and effectively to senior leadership and key stakeholders.Lead and support rate filings including the preparation of supporting documentation and responses to regulatory inquiries.Lead, mentor, and develop actuarial analysts and senior analysts, fostering technical excellence and professional growth.Cultivate a collaborative, inclusive and high-performance team environment that encourages innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications Bachelors degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceSix or more years of actuarial experience, with a strong focus on pricing; experience in property and casualty with an Associate of theCasualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) or a Fellow of theCasualty Actuarial Society (FCAS)Skill in leadership and stakeholder management, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence outcomes across the organizationProficiency in actuarial modeling tools, programming languages, and analytical platforms, including SQL, Python, R, SAS, and ExcelExperience with predictive modeling, advanced analytics, and data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BISkill in problem solvin...
