GENERAL DESCRIPTION Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) is seeking a detail oriented Design Coordinator to support the design, planning, and permitting of residential housing projects.

This position coordinates with local municipalities, utility companies, consultants, contractors, and internal departments to help move projects from initial design through permit approval and construction.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Coordinate project activities with local municipalities, utility companies, architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and internal Habitat LA departments to support timely project completion.

Monitor permit applications, plan-check comments, required corrections, approvals, utility coordination, and key project milestones.

Assist with the preparation, review, and coordination of residential plans, drawings, specifications, and supporting project documents.

Prepare and submit permit applications, construction documents, utility applications, and other required materials to applicable agencies.

Assist in resolution of questions and changes during the course of construction.

Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

SUMMARY OF JOB QUALIFICATIONS Must be able to successfully pass a drug test, and a background check Must have access to reliable transportation to perform job duties, a valid CA Driver's License, and meet the state-required amount of personal automobile liability insurance Must have a reliable internet connection Bacheors degree, or working toward a Master's degree, in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field- or equivalent professiossional experience Familiarity with Type V-B Construcion, residental building code, single-family and multifamily residential housing types, construction documents, and municipal permitting expenses Drafting experien...
