Full Job Description The Swiss Turn Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring Swiss-type CNC turning machines to produce precision components to established specifications and tolerances.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating CNC Swiss lathes and be comfortable working with tight tolerances, small components, and high-volume precision machining.

The Swiss Turn Operator must be able to read and interpret blueprints and set-up documentation, understand machining processes, use precision measuring equipment, and inspect completed workpieces to ensure they meet quality requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Set up and operate Swiss-type CNC turning machines according to established procedures, programs, and set-up sheets.Review blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining requirements.Load and secure raw material, tooling, collets, guide bushings, and other necessary components into the machine.Select, install, and adjust cutting tools and tooling as required for production.Monitor machine operation and make appropriate adjustments to feeds, speeds, offsets, coolant, and tooling to maintain quality and production requirements.Inspect first articles and production parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision inspection equipment.Monitor tooling wear and replace or adjust tooling as necessary to maintain part quality and dimensional accuracy.Identify and troubleshoot basic machining, tooling, and quality issues.Perform in-process inspections and document measurements as required.Maintain accurate production and inspection records and complete all necessary paperwork for processes completed.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures.Communicate machine, tooling, quality, or production issues to the appropriate supervisor or manager.Work effectively with other members of the Machine Shop and Manufacturing teams to meet production schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications: Minimum two (2) years of experience operating CNC Swiss-type turning machines preferred.Experience with Swiss-style CNC lathes.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and set-up sheets.Ability to understand and work with tight dimensional tolerances.Ability to use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools.Basic understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, feeds, speeds, and offsets.Basic understanding of M and G codes preferred.Ability to recognize tooling wear...
