Fin Press Mechanical Technician - 3rd Shift
POSITION PURPOSE
The Fin Press Mechanical Tech safely sets up, operates, troubleshoots, and maintains mechanical and hydraulic presses used to manufacture metal components to engineering, production, and quality specifications.
Key responsibilities include die changeovers, coil and feed-system setup, machine adjustments, quality inspections, troubleshooting, and basic preventive maintenance.
The Fin Press Mechanical Tech supports safe, efficient production by minimizing downtime, maintaining product quality, and following established safety and operating standards.
This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, blueprint-reading ability, familiarity with press controls and automation, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
* Working knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic presses, metal stamping processes, dies, and coil-fed equipment.
* Ability to safely set up, operate, adjust, and monitor presses and related equipment.
* Knowledge of die installation, alignment, securing, and changeover procedures.
* Ability to load, thread, align, and adjust coil stock, feeders, straighteners, and line controls.
* Understanding of press controls, automation, die protection sensors, tonnage, stroke, air pressure, and related operating parameters.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, work instructions, tolerances, and manufacturing specifications.
* Proficiency with precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
* Ability to perform first-piece and in-process inspections and identify nonconforming product.
* Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills for press, die, material, feeding, and process issues.
* Knowledge of basic preventive maintenance, including equipment inspection, cleaning, and lubrication.
* Understanding of machine guarding, lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE, and safe material-handling practices.
* Basic computer skills for machine controls, production reporting, and manufacturing systems.
* Ability to safely use approved material-handling equipment, including overhead cranes, forklifts, and electric carts, as required.
